Tauranga Woodcrafters Guild Inc.


We are a group of hobby woodworkers - men and women - keen to share our love of wood and skills with anyone keen to join us. We have been active since 1987 and in any given year we have 80 - 100 members of all ages and skill levels. We have a purpose-built Workshop located at3 - Cherokee Place -Mount Maunganui in Tauranga which is well-equipped with equipment & tools. Our Carving, Turning, Scrollsaw & Open Workshop Groups all meet each month. On the 3rd Saturday of every month at 1.30pm we have a general meeting plus demonstration & refreshments.Visitors are welcome. Our Guild Brochure defines meeting times, contact details and our annual fees. Men and women are all invited to join us.

Major event of our year is our Annual November Show / Exhibition, when we put our finished work on display for the Public to enjoy and perhaps to purchase, along with live displays of some of our crafts in action.

Show 2020

Our Carving, Turning, Scrollsaw & Open Workshop Groups have their own meetings each month. Download our Guild Brochure .

Carving Group


Carvers meet on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of each month at 9:30am. Interests cover - sculptural, relief carving, abstract work, driftwood designs, Maori and European patterns. Click the Icon above for more details.

Scrollsaw Group


Scrollsaw group meets on 1st & 3rd Wed. at 9:30am each month. Interests cover fretwork, marquetry, 3D scroll sawing and intarsia. Click the Icon above for more details.

Turning Group


Turners meet each month on the 1st Tues. at 9:30am & 1:30pm & 4th Wed. at 9:30am.Meetings include 1:1 hands-on sessions in the mornings followed by a group project and critique in the afternoons. Click the Icon above for more details

Openworkshop Group


Openworkshop is aimed at working people and covers all facets of woodworking. They meet 2nd & 4th Wed. at 6:30pm and 2nd & 4th Sat. at 9:30am. Click the Icon above.
