Georgia Southern University’s Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs serves as the Chief Academic Officer for the University, reporting to the University’s President. Working closely with the President and an extensive group of campus colleagues, he guides strategic planning and policy development, promotes campus-wide academic initiatives, and defines budgetary and development priorities.

The Provost oversees the following eight colleges along with the University Libraries:

• Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Computing
• College of Arts and Humanities
• College of Behavioral and Social Sciences
• College of Education
• College of Science and Mathematics
• Jack N. Averitt College of Graduate Studies
• Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health
• Parker College of Business
• Waters College of Health Professions

Also within the Provost’s purview are the University Honors Program, First-Year Experience, the Center for Teaching Excellence, Continuing Education, the Office of Research Services and Sponsored Programs, the Office of Global Engagement, and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. The Provost oversees a budget of $110 million.
